creatures!’

morning with Shaun Tan

Shaun Tan wants to tell you a secret: we are all weird creatures! From humans to animals to imaginary beings, we all have something in common. In this playful, educational presentation, Shaun will tell you about how he creates the people and other creatures that come to life in his books and films, including those you met in his recent ABC TV series, Tales from Outer Suburbia.

Friday 29 May, 10-11am
followed by a book signing*

Studio Theatre, The Hedberg, Level 4,
Corner of Campbell & Collins Streets, Nipaluna/Hobart

$10 per student,
1 free teacher/carer ticket allocated per 10 students.

*If students already have copies of Shaun’s books, they are welcome to bring them along. They will also be able to pre-order books through The Hobart Bookshop, with these orders allocated to students at the event so they can participate in the author signing. More details will be provided once bookings are confirmed.

Best suited for upper primary, but Shaun welcomes readers of all ages!

Confirmation and Payment

  • Three weeks prior to the performance, we will contact you to confirm the number of attending students and teachers/carers.

  • Please let us know of any increases in student numbers before the day of the event and we can do our best to accommodate them.

Cancellations

  • A final invoice will be issued by the Theatre Royal after the performance, based on the actual number of attendees, with a permitted variance of up to five fewer students than the number confirmed three weeks prior.

  • Cancellations made within one week of the performance date (including the day itself) will be charged in full, based on the confirmed numbers.
