Laura Panopoulos
Laura Panopoulos relocated to Lutruwita/Tasmania from Canada in 2017 and has since found herself grounded among like-minded, whimsical folk. She is a commissioned poet with Red Room’s 30in30 Poetry Month, where her work Perimeter of Rectangles was published in 2024. Laura developed a multi-disciplinary art project, My Benefactors of Laughter, blending recorded laughter and poetry. It was workshopped through the Performing Lines Artist Residency (2023) and later showcased at Moonah Arts Centre. Most of her poetry exists in performance, shared at events including Ten Days on the Island, Party in the Paddock, Australian Poetry Slam State Finals, Red Room Poetry’s Tasmanian Showcase, and ABC Hobart. Laura facilitates and hosts Silver Words Poetry, creating a space for the bold and supportive sharing of stories and poems.
