Kay Kudelka
My name is Kay Kudelka. I am a 19-year-old Tasmanian comic artist with my own ongoing graphic novel series, Sarimest (four in the series so far!!). I’ve always been a fan of comics, and love attending zine fairs, and other community led art events here in Hobart. For this event, I’m going to be reading Jon Kudelka’s (who is my dad) various notes and ideas, which I compiled, about his experiences with glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer. Him and his mum, Sandy, both died of the illness, and dad always wanted to share his experience through a book. To honour him in this event, I thought sharing his experience and shedding light on brain cancer and grief would be a great way to do so.
